We left Isle Royale NP and drove to Minneapolis, to visit Randy, a friend of ours from our Belgium days. While in Minneapolis we visited the Mall of America; an amazing shrine to capitalism. The place was gaudy and overdone, but a lot of fun. We didn't spend a whole lot of time there, but we wish we had gone to the kilt store and the alpaca store.
Our metro train ride downtown to the Twins stadium was interrupted by a protest march. The train let us off about 1 mile from Target field so we had to hoof it the rest of the way. After the game (another Twins loss) Randy was very kind and drove us to our car at the mall.
